Bookatutor is a simple and user-friendly portal. We fill the gap of matching tutors and students in the market by providing profiles of tutors, who go through stringent identity and qualification checks, for students to access.

This page will outline the workings of the website for both the tutors and students.

  • Register your details with Bookatutor for free.
  • During registration, you will be asked to submit contact details of two references. Though the submission of references in optional, we encourage all potential tutors to provide these as it will increase your competitiveness in the tutor market.
  • Once registered, you will be requested to log on to your account and upload an ID proof and your qualifications (i.e. school and/or college transcripts and other relevant qualifications) within 7 days. Your profile will remain inactive till the Bookatutor team receives these documents. Failure to upload the required documents will lead to the rejection of your profile. In other words, students will not be able to view your profile in our database without our verification of your documents.
  • Your profile will go live within 24 hours of the document upload. Your name will appear when a student, whose requirements match your skills, searches for the relevant tutor on our website.
  • You will set your own fees and state your availability as per your wish. Do ensure that your fees is competitive and that you have provided all information that will make your profile more appealing as compared to your competitors.
  • If you would like to get access to our large student database (and not limit yourself to only displaying your profile on our website), you can use our Market Information Service by buying our premium tutor membership.
  • By paying just Rs. 200 per month, you can become a Featured Tutor, whereby your profile gets displayed on all the pages of our Website. This increases your chance of being shortlisted and selected.
  • You can now log in and visit our featured page.

Want to become a Tutor?

Join us to begin finding good tutor jobs for yourself. Whether you want to home tutor or travel, Bookatutor can help you connect with students in your local area or online and begin private tuition. On your tutoring profile you can showcase your qualifications, experience, tuition methods, desired travel distance (or none at all), student feedback, relevant interests and much more. You set your own private tuition fees. It is free to register with Bookatutor, but you must be willing to undergo our identity checks and provide references before we'll connect you with clients. The site works as an 'open marketplace', where tutees choose private tutors based on merit and relevance to their tuition needs.

  • Register your details will Bookatutor.
  • Search for the tutors using Academic, Subject and Location (Mandatory Fields of Search) as well as Board and Classes (Optional Fields of Search). Tutors matching your requirements will be sorted by us according to their proximity to you.
  • We highly encourage you to look at as many profiles as possible, and see whether the tutor has references supporting his/her profile (though all tutors in our database are verified thoroughly by the Bookatutor team, yet we encourage students to have a look at various profiles and then decide their perfect match after careful consideration).
  • Get contact details of as many tutors as you want. All you need to do in register. You can also use our online messaging portal to communicate with the tutors for free.
  • We can also provide, if required, a free demonstration class of your shortlisted Tutor.

Is private tutoring for me?

We believe every child, fundamentally, has the capacity for great things. That given the right direction, mentoring and - yes - education, they have the capability to achieve. The one-to-one environment of private tuition means their capabilities can be nourished, developed and grown outside of the noise of the classroom, and their full potential can be realised. A good private tutor will furnish students with the confidence, knowledge and mindset to succeed; after which they will continue on from strength to strength.

Once the student has sent an enquiry via the messaging portal or contacted the tutor directly, the onus of replying falls on the tutor. If the tutor feels that he/she meets the requirements of the student, the tutor must reply to the enquiry and coordinate the classes directly with the student.
